"To Travel is to Live" are the wise words of Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. I believe in my life I feel these words deep into my soul. I travel because I need to. I also need to share my passion with others. I find no greater joy than building a custom travel package for a client and having them walk back into my office to share their exciting, life changing stories with me upon their return.
I have travelled extensively and luxuriously to over 35 countries worldwide. In 2018 I began taking the necessary steps to becoming a travel agent. By doing so I was able to turn my life long passion into my dream career. For years I was my family and friends go-to travel planner. After a life changing journey around the world in 2018 I knew where my place in the world was.
I took a travel agent certification course, dozens of product knowledge certificates and began working for my home town travel agency. Now 6 years later I am the proud owner of my own specialty boutique travel agency. The Travellers Agency is located in Sorrento B.C Canada. From small town Sorrento I work with clients around the world. Teaching them to experience the art of travel. Through my customized itineraries they celebrate the journey, coming home renewed and hungry for more.
I have travelled to many bucket list destinations. I've slept in an over water bungalow in the Maldives, rode a camel through the Moroccan Sahara desert to witness a sunrise, celebrated Diwali in India, swam with whale sharks in the Philippines and of course fulfilled my love of Disney more times than I can count in Disneyland, Disneyworld and even Hong Kong Disney. These are just a few of my treasured travel memories showcasing my world of experience.

The last time I visited Jamaica I had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the Sandals foundation and see first hand some of what this incredible foundation has to offer.
I thought I would share a few of my personal experiences with the organization.
One of the many pillars to the foundation is conservation. Working with the community to create awareness for endangered species such as sea turtles was this incredible soul who has dedicated his life to protect sea turtles.
Everything from the effects of global warming and the disappearance of beaches due to rising water levels and resorts being built to close to the shore line to poaching.We learned that global warming is changing the temperatures of the sand and creating an environment that is affecting the sex of the turtles. The knowledge shared by the scientists brings a new awareness and hope.
When you stay at a Sandals resort you are able to witness some of the benefits the foundation offers for the conservation of sea turtles.
Myself and a handful of other travel agents joined a group of other Sandals patrons to the nearing Jamaican Sandals resorts to witness and partaking of a Sea Turtle release.
This experience to physically release freshly hatched little turtles was emotional and overwhelming. I was so taken back by the little turtles crawling for life across the sand to hit the sea crawling for their little lives. Hoping they reached the sea was a moment in my life I will cherish forever.
Another one of the pillars of the foundation is to education. Sandals provides education for schooling, provides much needed school supplies. Which all of the agents on this trip brought from Canada as well to donate. When you stay at a resort be sure to ask how you too can give back.
The education provided to the Caribbean people goes far beyond that of in the class room as well, teach local women the importance of mammograms, education on food security, cultivation, other health and dental and so much more.
Best of all 100 percent of the donations received by the foundation go directly to the foundation. Sandals pays the staff in the foundation and not with donations.
